The largest economic development project in Portland’s history, the South Waterfront District presents a unique opportunity to create a 21st century urban neighborhood in the central city. With approximately $2.5 billion of development planned in the next decade, the 38-acre Central District is envisioned to include more than 2,700 residential units, 1.5 million square feet of space for Oregon Health and Science University, a 250-room hotel, 250,000 square feet of ground-level retail space, a four-acre greenway and a two-acre neighborhood park.
